Batu Belig Beach
The closest beach. It is calmer than its neighbours and one of our favourite places for sunset.
Umalas sits between Seminyak and Canggu, so the best of both is a short ride away. Below are the places our guests ask about most. Our team is happy to recommend more and to arrange tours.
Everything in this part is a short ride from 20 Suites Umalas. Traffic in Bali can be heavy, so allow some extra time.

The home of the Berawa beach clubs, close to the suites.
A wide, relaxed shore beside the Petitenget temple.
Known for beginner-friendly surf and beach cafés, with a small sea temple on the rocks.
A long stretch of dark sand lined with beach clubs, restaurants and loungers. Waves can be strong, so check the flags before swimming.
In Berawa, with pools, bars and daily DJs. A good choice for families too.
In Berawa, billed as the world's largest beach club.
In Petitenget, known for its amphitheatre of reclaimed wooden shutters and its infinity pool.
Right on Batu Bolong beach, with bean bags on the lawn, an infinity pool and a reliable sunset.
On Echo Beach, a bohemian, driftwood-style spot known for its décor and sustainable seafood.
Seminyak's original chiringuito-style beach bar, with bright bean bags and umbrellas on the sand.
There are lots of cafés nearby, and we would be happy to recommend some. Here are a few of our favourites.
A light-filled, leafy all-day café, best known for its build-your-own bowls and breakfasts.
A relaxed, family-friendly all-day café with a kids' menu.
Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes to share, in a leafy garden setting.
Latin-inspired plates in a striking glass-and-brick building. It is very popular, so book ahead.
At Café del Mar, a no-nonsense, old-school gym for serious strength training.
In Berawa, a large wellness club with classes and recovery facilities.
In Canggu, training, recovery and wellness in one place, with a pool and a café.
In Pererenan, a strength and HYROX gym with indoor and outdoor training.
Apotek Kimia Farma Umalas, an ATM Mandiri and several supermarkets are all close by.
These make good day trips. Most need an early start, so ask reception about our tour packages and the best time to go.
Bali's most famous sea temple. Only worshippers can enter, but at low tide you can walk down to its base. Sunset is the busiest time, so come in the morning for space and check the tide times first.
A temple on a clifftop followed by the fire-lit Kecak dance at sunset. Sarongs are lent at the entrance, and the monkeys snatch glasses and phones, so keep them in a bag. Arrive around 4 PM.
A 10th-century water temple where visitors can join the purification ritual. A sarong and sash are required, and it is best to go early. It combines well with Tegalalang.
Built around a statue of Vishnu riding Garuda that is over 120 m tall. There is a lot of walking in the sun, so go in the late afternoon.
Bali's most photographed rice terraces. Morning light is best, and it helps to bring a little cash for the small donations asked along the paths.
One of Bali's biggest waterfalls, reached by around 500 steps down a jungle gorge, and the same back up. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours and wear shoes with good grip.
A dawn boat trip, with boats leaving around 6 AM, so many guests stay locally. Sightings are likely but never guaranteed.
Pandawa, Thomas, Suluban and Padang Padang sit below limestone cliffs. Several involve steps and some are best at low tide, so combine them with Uluwatu Temple for a full day. Sunrise on Mount Batur is also popular, with a very early start.
We offer tour packages and are happy to recommend cafés, restaurants and beach clubs. Just ask on WhatsApp.
